What does it take to see miracles?  I have been fascinated with this topic lately.

So first of all, what is a miracle?

An effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause; such an effect or event manifesting or considered as a work of God; a wonder; marvel.

CS Lewis defines a miracle, “I use the word miracle to mean an interference with nature by supernatural power.” It does not break the law of nature.

The most significant point about this definition is that it requires the existence of a power beyond nature that can decide to act within nature.

To me this is all mind-bending. But the fact that miracles are not breaks in natural law but the interference with it that create a marvel or wonder is absolutely amazing and ultimately for the purpose of greater acceptance of God as sovereign and ultimately for the building of one’s faith.  That is amazing to me.

So on to our 2nd question.  What does it take to see one?  I believe it takes a wholehearted effort and devotion to offering what you have as a solution to others.  Now I am not advocating selling everything you have and giving it to the poor unless that is what you believe you have been called to do.  But what I do mean is taking the time to determine your own specific gift set and then developing that and learning how best to distribute that.  When one is ‘leaving it all on the court’’ as they say, the stage is set to see miracles happen.  I really don’t believe miracles happen when playing it safe. I think miracles happen in the presence of vulnerability and that takes a risk and a dependence on a greater being than oneself.

This past month, we saw 3 absolutely amazing couples put it all out there and God delivered miracles. It took 2 trips to Colorado, hours of preparation, and a dedication to go all-in when we were together. THEY DID IT!  And wow, did God show up!  Hearts were moved, minds were opened, and divides and hurts were healed.  Now each of these amazing couples has had their faith built and are on their way to BRAND new chapters for their marriages and families. Joel and I feel so unbelievably privileged to have witnessed these miracles.  But truly we watched the power of God (aka the miracle worker) interfere with what would have been 3 wrecked marriages, broken families, and divided communities. That would have been the natural evolution due to the universal laws in place that would have occurred.

So what about you?  Do you need and want to see a miracle?

It will take an “all in” heart and mind, and I believe, then a dedication to understanding your own gifting and how to best use it.  If you want to know more, then please set up a complimentary Vision Session and let’s get going.  The world needs what you have. And couldn’t we all use a little miracle?

To more miracles…
