My friend from Atlanta called me the other day and said, “I am calling all my THRIVER friends not my survivor friends.” 🤗 I was so touched by that. But more than just being personally encouraged, that is something I want to hold out to you: the idea of being a THRIVER.
So much fear & uncertainty come from focusing on what you CANNOT do. With so many changes happening so fast daily in regards to the way we are used to living our lives, we can get so fixated on what we now cannot do. I get it. But that is a for sure recipe for more frustration and anxiety. It is so important right now to focus on what we CAN do.
And there is so much…
🔹 Though we have to stay away from one another, we CAN go out for walks.
🔹 Though we cannot go to the movies, we CAN watch movies at home.
🔹 Though we cannot go to restaurants, we CAN cook delicious healthy meals.
🔹 Though we cannot travel as well, we CAN video chat our friends and family.
🔹 Though we cannot go out as much, we CAN clean out the clutter and read the book and best of all spend time working on our relationships.
🔹 We CAN even spend some time dreaming about our future and maybe journaling about it.
In fact, we need to occupy our time and our minds with what we CAN do.
Filling your mind with all that you CAN do is a sure way to lessen the anxiety and actually THRIVE and not just survive during these uncertain times. And who knows what good God may just bring from our collective time out?
Here’s to staying well and to all the NEW ideas that will be born from this time.
I’d love to hear from you about anything positive you are doing during this time!
Let’s build each other up.
Here’s to you THRIVING!
