I have always been fascinated with the story of Peter getting out of the boat in the midst of a storm. I mean who leaves a perfectly good place of safety to go out into the darkness with so much turmoil around them because they think they hear something or someone calling them? He must have been looking for something or someone.
The more I reflect on it, the crazier it sounds.
And yet I do think it’s the storms of life that often jar us loose from our routines and get us to start looking. But the question is, what are we going to do when we are jarred loose? Cling to what we have always done or step into a new and unfamiliar territory that requires supernatural assistance.
Call me a thrill junkie, but I’ll take that opportunity all day long. I have come to understand that only by consistently stepping out of my own comfort zone do I feel the need for God and that my relationship becomes palpable and experiential, not just academic and the right thing to do.
I am one who needs to feel the presence of God in my own life, just as I need to feel the presence of anyone I love to feel close to them.
The crazier thing is that when I have left the confines of traditions and routines, I have discovered this gigantic loving and powerful Father that suspends universal law allowing me to do things I never imagined possible. In other words, walk on water instead of just treading it. Really…miracles do happen outside the boat.
Are you in need of a miracle? Are you tired of treading water? I so get it. Then join some of us who are attempting to feel our faith as real and palpable and totally IN action by stepping out of your comfort zone. If you have hung around this community for any length of time, you have seen all sorts of women experience miracles. We are not special – just willing.
One of the women I wanted to highlight who is definitely NOT treading water and has stepped way out there to create a vision that serves many is Sarah Dalton. She is the founder of A Simply Big Life planners, podcast, and now a fantastic new digital self-paced, Peace & Productivity program for overwhelmed women who need to get some order in life. I am so grateful I have had her organizational training in my life. My vision will be capped by what I feel I can handle. So getting organized is key.
What a fantastic conversation we had on her podcast discussing:
- Areas of life I am currently creating space in. (’cause I need space to grow 😃 and we are)
- What was 2020 like and how did it affect the way I am coaching women today?
- How do I define vision and what does it mean to create a vision?
- First few steps you can take to create yours.
- What roadblocks do I find with women that get in the way of them living their vision?
- What are the different types of motivation? Where does it come from? How can we harness it consistently?
- What does A Simply Big Life mean to me?
