Last year I decided to ‘give myself permission to fail’ as many times as necessary…oh boy did I. I realized that as I had grown and had more responsibility and even more blessings, I felt the tightrope effect, as I call it, closing in on me.

The tightrope effect is a condition or way of living that occurs when I feel I have to get each step just right. I realize this tends to happen to me the greater the blessings or success that comes my way. I begin to feel pressure, hemmed in, claustrophobic, and trapped in the perfectionist mindset again, afraid of blowing it…UGH!

So as 2020 was a big growth year, I began to feel that and instituted the mindset and mantra of permission to fail which freed me. I began to do some research on this and found I was not the only one to use this strategy, but rather one very prestigious university had in fact a year-long course on “Failing Well: How to handle Setbacks Well” complete with a Certificate of Failure given at the end. 😊

The students of this prestigious university tend to be extremely hard on themselves and highly competitive. Now, as you know, if you have been in this community for any length of time, we too seem to attract women that are extremely hard on themselves…hence our motto…“Be a student and NOT a judge of yourself.”

We have learned here at LYV  and I love it when the Bible, science, or academia confirm what we are learning) that unless women feel some space and freedom to explore, they will not grow. The alternative is not good.

So here at LYV, we make it our aim to create a culture of grace (or charis) and to encourage learning and growth with the spirit of YOU have permission to fail. 😊

The proof is in the pudding as they say…

What did that mindset help produce last year to now?

  1.  3 team members to 7
  2. From LYV Mastermind version 6 to LYV Mastermind 9
  3. We launched monthly interview, instructional and inspirational Video series, Vision talks: for the faith-filled adventurous woman longing for a new chapter
  4. Hosted not just a digital event, but one 5-day magnificent live event and 3 successful digital events
  5. Broke a financial ceiling never before achieved
  6. Served a record number of women by doubling our service offerings
  7. Countless women’s breakthroughs in their faith, their confidence, and their visions
  8. Raises & promotions
  9. New boyfriends
  10. New businesses launched & contracts signed
  11. New books written
  12. Debts paid down
  13. Stronger marriages,  families & belief in the Divine
  14.  Weight lost, health gained
  15. New relationships built

Now the mistakes I made also grew…(these are just a few)

  1. Didn’t always balance my time well with meetings and with my husband. (Please forgive me, Joel and team.) ⏳
  2. Overlooked the arrangement of set up and clean up crews at our live event. (Thank you for your grace Team LYV.) 💜
  3. Overspent and underestimated cost on our live event with my less than clear communication skills and COVID era (Thank you God for your grace to cover.) 🙏

Overall, however, the growth exceeded the setbacks and I have come to learn that the obstacle is the way.

So I am reinstituting permission to fail…won’t you join us?

What if you gave yourself permission to fail knowing it is part of the pathway to getting you where you want and where God has intended for you?

Think about it. And set yourself FREE.

PS: The ReInvent Your Life training has once again had over 100 women join and been a total success. I am seeing how women are sharing these revolutionary strategies within their own communities to strengthen their very own ecosystems. I love it! 😍 It will be available through January 31st and then it will go away again for at least a year. So don’t wait. Click here to gain access to all training materials.

Also this Saturday, Jan. 29th, we have another fabulous Vision Talk being released. Please join us in the private FB group for my interview with LMFT Mie Tsuchimoto. How timely when mental health challenges are at an all-time high. She shares her magical combination and unique process of healing and finding your way forward, something many need right now.
