You’ve likely heard the phrase “Beware the Ides of March”. It’s a warning that Julius Caesar received before his untimely assassination on March 15th, 44 BC.

A little context here…the Romans didn’t date their months by each calendar day like we do now, but more so by groups of days surrounding the phases of the moon, so the ides of each month tied in with the full moon.

So, why am I bringing this up? Because the Ides of March was a time for Romans to settle their debts and celebrate. So as we approach the middle of March, it got me thinking – do I have any unsettled debts to myself?  Are there things I made promises to myself I would do at the beginning of the year that I’ve let slip? Any visions or dreams that God laid on my heart that I haven’t made steps toward What can I celebrate? What are the wins I’ve had so far this year? Mid-March is a great time to mark your progress or reevaluate and reengage.

Sometimes we realize we just need a little help to get things going again, someone to put us back on track, and give us the encouragement we need to restart what we began or to just start it anew.

So let’s make this Ides of March a time to not “beware of” but to Be Aware. To be alert to things that make us who we are in God’s eyes and the things we’re created to do. To pivot and make the adjustments if needed, so we can go into the Spring with as much excitement and expectation as we had when we made those resolutions and promises to ourselves in the past.

PS: Don’t forget to mark your calendar for Saturday, Sept. 16th in Los Angeles for our 3rd International Women’s Conference Live Your Vision LIVE. We do hope you’ll join us. Book your tickets to LA now.

PPS: And just for a little additional inspiration, here are a few more women we are celebrating this month that got the help to keep their promises to themselves.
