We live in a culture where “if you’re not doing something, you’re wasting
time”. Being so focused on the task at hand and not taking a moment to
breathe, it can have long-term effects on us – physically, mentally, and
emotionally.

As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to get swallowed up in the busyness of the
day-to-day grind. When that happens, we’re not the best version of
ourselves, and those around us – whether it’s our family, coworkers or
employees – often suffer the consequences.

Just like food and sleep, time for ourselves is vital to our overall health and
well-being.

Taking “me time” allows our minds to reboot and gives us a fresh
perspective. We are refueled and ready to tackle that next thing on the to-
do list. The challenge is setting aside time in our regular schedule for “me”.

Give yourself permission.

It’s easy to listen to that little voice that says, “I’m being selfish,” and give
into guilty feelings, when in reality, taking “me time” allows you to be
present and at your best when others need you.

“Me time” helps us make better decisions and respond appropriately when
the pressure comes.

We are important and we deserve time for ourselves. No agenda. Just me
time.

By making “me time” a priority, we will sleep better, feel better, and act
better, making us a better parent, partner, employee, boss – a better
person overall.
