What do you think of when you think of the word shrewd? I know most think of it being some sort of slimy manipulation tactic.

Oddly, Jesus tells us to BE shrewd. So what’s up with that?

Well, it has dawned on me that far too many women (again myself included) naively have traveled through life good-heartedly hoping things would work out if they were nice enough, did enough good deeds, served enough people, ate the right foods, lived a moderate life, believing yet not developing skills to negotiate that journey well. And when we hit snags, we quickly believe the lie…” we are not enough”. Although I do agree all the former things are important, I believe there is more.

In my opinion, we are too often like sheep sent to the wolves without the equipping necessary to navigate the challenges. So we keep attempting to move blocks with repetitive straightforward approaches wondering why nothing changes. …… what is that called? (I think it’s what they call insanity.😩)

With the usual straightforward approach to things not always working it seemed intuitive to study alternative methods to me. (of course ethical) One such head-scratching strategy is the idea of being ‘shrewd’. Never in my life would I have thought that was something I needed to pursue. My nature is bent toward believing in happy endings with an idealistic simple approach.

However, I have come to believe there is more than meets the eye here for our personal, and professional, and believe it or not spiritual development to really continue to be all that God intends and that we hope for.

I have been studying the concept of being shrewd for a few months now, and wow have my eyes been opened!  I have learned that shrewd as the Lord intended is a powerful and necessary attribute to navigate this world. Learning to leverage the right time, right place, and right force for the greatest good is essential for everyone who longs to make a difference in this world.

We learn from many sources; nature, sociology, science, and all faiths and philosophies here. But regardless of what you believe, success cannot be argued with. In fact, I have realized with this eye-opening that every encounter with Jesus included an aspect of shrewd leverage to impact the greatest numbers for the greatest good. Whether healing, feeding, or comforting He used a rather sideways approach.

Whatever your endeavor, if you are trying to do good, resistance will be right there with you, so becoming mentally fit, which includes becoming shrewd and moving in alternative, less predictable ways will become imperative.

In both Live Your Vision and our alumni program Expand Your Vision, we teach alternative ways of thinking so you can stop hitting your head against that brick wall. I believe there is a solution to every problem…usually at least  3….but it will take learning to think differently. Becoming shrewd is one of them. I love the mental stimulation and how it calls my faith higher to learn and grow and not be outwitted. Want to learn more?

Stick around and even check out what we are doing more closely. You have within you the brain power to bring about different outcomes. It may just need some support. I love learning new ways of doing life.

The possibilities are endless and I believe God has given us what we need for life and Godliness.  You have what this world needs. You just may need to learn how to use it differently. We are here for you.

Much love and support,
Julie
