Today is the day before many celebrate the resurrection of Christ. I have been reflecting on what that day must have been like 2000 years ago for those that had their hopes set on Jesus being the Savior and life getting better for them all. It must have been a really dark day. No wonder it is also known as Black Saturday.

Whether you believe in Christ or not, we can all agree that there are days that are really dark in our lives too – when hope is squashed and it feels like things will never change. In those challenging times is where we are really tested and who we are is revealed. The inspirational movies on the list we are compiling with your help, all really illustrate that for us. That’s why we love them for the test.

Well, this is really a test. As I’ve shared, our family has had some challenging times recently and I am trying to be a student of what is coming out of me in these times.  All the negativity around me is like scratching on a blackboard to my soul. I try to keep it out but some inevitably sneaks in and that is when I feel most tested. I want to be like a bear and hibernate until it is over. But that is not my lot in life. I admit though, to how much I want to repel it, and rail against it and just block it out and there is a part of it that is good. But then there is a part of allowing it in that is good too so that I may be strengthened in the test in my faith, resilience and mental fitness.

Epic challenges are what epic lives are made of. And epic lives make an epic impact.

Since I have signed up for a life of impact, then challenge is what accompanies it.

Remaining comfortable and making a difference do not co-exist.

At the end of the day, what does it matter if our lives don’t make this world better?

Playing it safe, hiding in the shadows, and protecting my personal comfort zone is not going to reveal to me what I am intended to do with the amazing gifts God has given me.

If you are reading this, I want to remind you that you too have some amazing gifts that are intended to make this world better. What is it in YOU that this world needs?

If you don’t know for sure, then please mark your calendars for June 20th for the most amazing virtual event, Renew Your Vision: a virtual day of refreshment for your health and your wealth.

I know we are all trying to be safe. But don’t let that mindset creep in and kill your dreams for this year.  Even if it’s been a dark time for you too, we can renew our visions together. 2020 may not have arrived the way we’d hoped, but it’s not over.

It is always darkest before the dawn. I wish you a wonderful resurrection Sunday.

To the dawn and your renewed love and hope.
