Do you get excited by new ideas but then find yourself not acting on them? I get it. We are all human, but we need to be careful before this mentality can really get very defeating and be habit forming.

Confucius says, “If we hear, we forget. When we see, we remember, only when we do, do we understand.

We must act NOW.

Read that again…‘Only when we do, do we understand.’ I don’t know about you, but I want to live a life of purpose and understanding.

Your day may be filled with so much information that you find yourself collecting ideas all day to the point of overwhelm. What do you do with those ideas? Do you set them aside or are you a champion action taker?

Mel Robbins is famous for this. Her key focus in this area is: to get yourself to stop procrastinating by counting down from 5, and then you must be in action by the time you’ve finished.

Play this game for just this week. Next time you think about doing something, you must either get up and go do it right then & there or a least write it down with the plan to do it that day.

Of course, depending upon the size of your ideas, you may or may not be able to act upon everything you think that day. The point is to break through some of the resistance and inertia that hold you captive when making decisions.

It does seem the older we get, the more bogged down we get. This exercise is designed to get you going again. Because although I am a proponent of considering your options, there are so many out there these days that we are paralyzed and end up doing nothing. But the world will not be changed nor will you start LIVING your vision by just thinking about it.
