“Life is a journey.” And transition is our companion on that journey. Some are naturally better at transition (aka change) than others. Some thrive on the growth that happens in transition while others avoid it at all costs. Like Miss Havisham from Charles Dickens’, “Great Expectations” who attempted in her own way, to stop time rather than change.
Some live in the same small town [even the same house] all their lives and some are gypsies. But change is difficult–which is why most say they want it, but few follow thru with it.
Even those considered “Elite Performers,” when faced with going to a new place in life, discover their own limiting beliefs and insecurities about the unknown, which is where all transition takes us. We never really transition backward, because time is the continuum that we all move on. What makes change difficult is the fear of the unknown.
Do you want to transition and feel resistant? Are you in the middle of a transition and unsure? Do you feel like you have to make a move but are afraid of the cost?
Transition coaches are trusted advisors that provide the motivation, tools and accountability (MTA) to partner with you to take that leap and land safely and successfully on your feet. Because let’s face it, all successful transition requires ‘a leap of faith.’
What scares people is not the destiny, it’s the journey.
I have moved 25 times in the last 27 years, had 4 different careers, not jobs, known my husband since 15,(now 51) have been married for 27 years to that true ‘renaissance’ man, and raised 2 daughters (15&18 currently). Transition has been a familiar companion. I have become good friends with change. There is nothing more valuable than a trustworthy partner when it’s time to face those changes and make those transitions.
The transitions that were made with a competent confidant were richer, more meaningful and successful. Those that I tried to ‘go it alone’ seemed to drag out, wear me out and leave me wondering, “was this the right thing?”
The value of a qualified transition coach cannot be overstated. The time and money saved, the lessons learned, the experiences enjoyed as well as the growth and accomplishment achieved are but a few of the benefits.
What if you didn’t have to go it alone? What if you had a trusted friend, ally, advisor and confidant to make the crossing with? What changes would you attempt? What new place would you go? What business would you start? What relationship would you pursue? What career move would you make? What dream would you go after? How would life be different if you had a trusted transition coach to accompany you to the other side?
“There’s no such thing as a self-sustaining person. We get what we need from outside ourselves. The mechanism is trust, as we trust others.”
