In a conversation this week with one of our team members, we were discussing how she could get refreshed after a busy week because she was scratching her head wondering why she was so tired.
She is a leader in many capacities.
Leaders are highly intuitive at hearing and seeing things others don’t. Then combined with a willingness and confidence to take appropriate action with that information they are constantly taking in, they put out an enormous amount of energy regularly.
In fact, think about it…
If in fact, you are a leader, (and let me remind you if you are a mom you are also a leader) you deal with so many people and situations and each has an effect on you.
Either it’s an energy gain with each interaction or an energy drain.
Chances are much more likely to live in a state of positive energy and have it protected and even increased if you…
🔹 are working in your area of natural God-given strengths
🔹 have aligned your activities and relationships with your own values
🔹 are passionate about your work
🔹 are clear about ‘why’ you are doing what you are doing
🔹 have identified who you do your best work with
🔹 have collected a ‘posse’ of those ideal people
🔹 are surrounded by a supportive community
Sound like a tall order? It is.
But if your productive energy is important to you, and as a leader it is vital, then this is a great recipe for increasing and protecting it.
By doing the above, you will identify energy leaks as well.
Jesus, though He had the power to do all things, chose only to do certain things with certain people at certain times.
That is often the problem with leaders and burnout because just because they can do something doesn’t mean they should.
You feel it. You know it.
All of us need to recharge regularly.
Quiet unplugged alone time is precious. Plan it. Don’t wait for it.
Own your energy supply. Recognize it is subject to depletion and just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.
For further understanding of how to set yourself up for operating at your full potential consistently refer to the list above and let us help show you how.
