I have been fascinated with this idea lately that there are good works prepared in advance for me to do. I just love that thought. It reminds me that there is a great future for me. And with all the scary news lately, I need to be closely connected to a timeless truth that will not shrink nor fade.
Now I know this is NOT just for me, it really is scripture written to us all. But have you ever given it much thought? I confess I have given mental assent to it but never really considered in a deeper way what that meant for me until recently. (It is Ephesians 2:10 BTW)
I know that I must take full responsibility for my thoughts, words, and actions, which empowers me. And so many women I know need to realize how much more power they have access to. But if I’m not careful, it can also overwhelm myself if I tip too far in my thinking of “If it’s to be…it’s up to me.”
So the balance of trusting that I am God’s workmanship created with specific gifts set within me to equip me for certain works already planned for me gives me a better perspective and peace of mind yet eager anticipation of what’s in store.
So that way I am neither passive NOR paralyzed.
What about you?
Are you excited for your own future?
Have you realized that THERE are good works prepared in advance for you to do?
And if you have realized that, have you let it fuel your soul with faith and eager anticipation?
Are you energized enough by it to take the appropriate action?
Why not spend some time today, since it is the weekend, tuning out social media and certainly the mainstream media, and allow yourself to reflect on what possible good works could be ahead. Imagine the amazing and satisfying work prepared for you that will bring great impact and maybe even income to you and your family. What beautiful opportunities are starting to show themselves? Take the time to think, reflect, take inventory, and dream. It is part of how we were designed. And to me without these times, we just robotically react to life as it comes at us. But that is forfeiting so much. Remember we go where we look. Let’s make sure we have our eyes on the right things.
I happen to love to explore and discover and this recent trip across the country has opened up my soul and my mind to how much bigger life can be. Allow this mental trip to show you how much bigger life can be. Because whether you realize it or not there is good work for you ahead. And the world really does need what you have.
Happy Reflecting!
