Just pause for a moment and ask yourself…Are you hiding your light?

What do I mean?
🔹 Do you have gifts, strengths, passions, and ideas that you withhold or don’t take action on?
🔹 Do you shy away from offering your solutions because you do not want to make anyone else feel bad by shining brighter or risk someone shooting you down?
🔹 Do you get easily embarrassed or uncomfortable when someone praises you?
🔹 Are you always the “support” person? The “right hand”?
🔹 Are you so busy with your service to others, you actually don’t even know what you need or want or like or should be doing with what you have been given?
🔹 Do you live with a subconscious fear of being called proud, vain, self-centered or arrogant?
🔹 Do you find yourself looking critically and enviously at others really going for it with their dreams, secretly wishing you had the courage, time, money or something you think they have, but you don’t?
🔹 In order to not offend, disrupt, risk personal embarrassment, or draw any unnecessary attention, do you go so far out of your way to be behind the scenes, do the right thing or be supportive that you have become invisible?

If you answered any of the above with a yes, you are most likely hiding your light.

And by the way, that is not necessarily an indication of your great humility, selflessness, and faith.

Also, the consequences of chronic shut down, living in the shadows, hiding in fear, and reacting to everyone else in the name of being spiritual is a dangerous pathway….and sadly not even humble trust in God.

Humility does call for denial of ‘self’ but not living IN denial.

That ‘self’ that we are to deny is the one who diminishes or mutes the presence of God, not the beautiful self, God Himself created in His image. Did you know that certain specific attributes of God were placed within you to accomplish certain beautiful works that make this world better and literally magnify the presence of the divine on this earth?  And when you get really in touch with them and are using them fully, you are truly elevating the presence of the Almighty.

Think about this:
If, in fact, God has sent his only son to pay for your sins and by that, not only cleared your name of guilt and condemnation but also empowered you with the indwelling of His Holy Spirit to be able to be His ambassador, then why in Heaven’s name (literally) do you run around like a chicken with its head cut off hiding what He has given you?

THAT, my friend, is NOT humble or surrendered to the life and mission God has designed for you.

“Your lives light up the world. For how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others so that your commendable works will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.” Mt 5:14-16 TPT

So I urge you to stop ignoring and putting off and ultimately hiding, but start discovering, developing, and shining your magnificent gifts for the benefit of all around you. It really will take you denying self to discover who God intended you to be.

Maybe you did not realize you have been hiding, or maybe you have but don’t know what to do about it. My hope is that at the very least, this got you thinking. And for those that really want to know more about what I am saying and to learn to shine brightly while still honoring others and most importantly God, let’s talk. Set up your personal Vision Session.

Time to stop hiding.

The world needs what you have.
