When you examine your life, what do you see? Do you focus on all that you have OR are you consumed by what you lack? Are you overwhelmed by the thought of pleasing others, or are you on track to put yourself first?

We all have that one thing that is holding us back from living a life of true purpose. It’s up to us to put in the work to figure out what that one thing is. Identifying it will diminish its power over our lives and we’ll be free to discover new things.

Germany Kent says it well – “When you start loving yourself and respecting your time and energy, things will change. Get to know your worth, and your value will go up.”

Your happiness is worth the time. Your true joy is worth the energy it takes to figure out what’s stopping you. Ask yourself – what is the one thing I’m lacking in my life today? And how can I change it? Recognizing it makes all the difference.

Are you a rock-star at prioritizing? Or do you struggle to make sense of your day-to-day responsibilities?

Are you a dreamer at heart, but hide your aspirations from others? Do you continue to put your family first and forget about yourself? Don’t get me wrong. Family is a top priority in my life, but I cannot give them my best if I do not value myself. If I fail to see myself as they see me, I won’t be able to give them what they deserve. Too often we spend so much time learning and caring for the needs of others that we are absolute strangers to ourselves. And then we wonder why we are lonely.  But if we don’t really know ourselves it is hard to share ourselves with others in an authentic way that is mutually fulfilling and connected.

I challenge you to live a passion-filled life – in every aspect. In order to do that, you must get to know what you are passionate about. This isn’t an option. You need to be deliberate in your choices, and unafraid to step out of your box and try new things. If you struggle to take that leap of faith because of others – you’re believing a lie! Your family wants you to succeed. They want you to be happy. Don’t let them be your scapegoat.

There is a difference between fear and courage. Don’t let fear keep you from the life you deserve. Be courageous! Pushing yourself to that next level will only inspire you to keep reaching for the stars. You deserve it!

No matter what you do…figure out your strengths. What are you truly passionate about? What is in deep inside of you that is just waiting for you to share with the world?! Discovering what drives us helps us understand our why and stop being strangers to ourselves.

You might be saying, “That’s not me at all. Things are great!” You might be just the opposite. You have it all together, and you have discovered your ‘one thing’ that sets you apart from others, and you’re dying to share it with the world!

Congrats! You have discovered what so many of us are still moving towards.

Even if you have it all figured out – what is your ONE THING?

What legacy will you leave? What mark will you have made?

Here’s a simple exercise to get you thinking – ask yourself these four questions:

  1. What is it that you are excited about doing? What makes you smile and gives you a reason to get out of bed in the morning? I encourage you to figure it out and don’t be afraid to make it your focus!
  2. What are your natural God-given strengths? We all have them. Don’t be afraid to discover what gifts you have inside. Lean into them every single day.
  3. What are your core values? Not your husband’s or your church’s or even your friend’s values. What are your values that drive your every-day decisions? Let them guide your life.
  4. What are you passionate about? Some people don’t know yet. That’s okay. Life beats us down and makes it so easy for us to forget what drives us. The key is to not allow this to continue. Push away the negative thoughts and focus on what excites you. Let your passion drive you. It won’t steer you wrong!

Just be open to possibilities.

Figure out these four questions, put it all together, and find out a way you can make a difference in this world and you’ll be jumping for joy too.  Passion filled living doesn’t mean you are not responsible.  Quite the opposite, it means you are tapping into an energy source that is sure to make an impact.

Here’s to your passion-filled life!
