The topic for discussion in our last couple LYV Mastermind meetings was around the presence of the inner critic. It’s a real thing.
Some say they feel it is necessary to ‘keep them humble’.
Some say it paralyzes them and keeps them from being their best.
Which is it?
Friend or foe?
In my experience; the higher the achiever, the louder the inner critic.
Sadly though, those negative voices many of us hear from within are often misinterpreted as truths about us. But really? Think about it. The whispering of what you are not and other negative things about you, where is that really coming from?
My view…fear.
I have come to realize that the voice is stronger and more prevalent when I am about to deliver something that stands to make a greater impact on the well-being of others.
I see it all rear its ugly head all the time.
For example:
🔷 I am about to share about creating a great next chapter to some women, and my husband and I get in a fight, OR
🔷 One of the women is about to speak on wellness and they got shingles.
(You get where I am going with this.)
That inner critic is a constant when we are about to do good.
Even now, if you are considering joining us on this amazing journey to learn how to discover, develop and distribute the beautiful gifts you have been given, what is coming up for you?
Just prior to making a decision, a commitment and/or an investment in YOU, it will be the strongest. Don’t you see? If Satan can keep you in fear, thinking small, and diminishing who God created you to be, then he keeps winning and you keep shrinking.
I do get it. But consider this, what if it’s not about entirely shutting it down? Fear is also designed to protect us. What if it wasn’t that we could walk through life free of fear, but rather interpreting that voice or fear more accurately?
What do you hear in those accusations?
🔷 “You are a phony“…OR
🔷 Do you consider that it could be that you are a threat?
What if what’s inside of you was the answer to someone else’s prayer? What if you had a solution buried in you, placed in you by God to help someone else?
That is my personal theory.
Your vision is the answer to someone else’s prayer.
Your dream is the solution to someone else’s problem.
And quite honestly, the world needs what YOU have.
You have heard me say it before. I will keep saying it, because I keep watching women who step into that belief create solutions to…
Healthcare – Doctors writing patient-centered practice trainings. How would it feel to go to your doctor’s office and feel heard, seen, and cared for as an individual?
Education – Teachers developing training to engage learning more. How would you like to have your child thrilled to learn?
Parenting – Professionals helping parents with the digital overuse crisis we are in and ADHD, temper tantrums, behavioral challenges and general lack of connection with children. How would it feel to have close and connected children even in this busy digital time?
Child Wellness & Foster Care – Single moms buying homes and launching a foster care home and safe house as well as training programs launched for unwed teen moms.
Financial wellness – Guidance for women business owners to build sustainable thriving businesses. Yes, women can be financially savvy, too!
Racism – An anti-racism resolution being passed in the House of Delegates receiving national recognition. (Now that is history making and more important difference making!)
YOU tell me…Phony OR THREAT?
These women have learned to translate the language of fear into something useful – to recognize that resistance as verification and validation and to give it a nod, examine it in context, and walk powerfully on using the energy it creates to call them forward.
Think about it…do you need to learn the language of fear better?
It’s not going away, so let’s make good use of it.
