3 Things You Must Be Prepared For to Launch Your Vision
History is a profound teacher. If you need to know how to do something, find a role model who has gone before you. As an architect of so many women’s visions including my own, I often use history as my guide. And regardless of what you believe, from a historical point of view, Jesus was a powerful changemaker. But he did not do it alone. He worked through others enrolling them in His vision. Helping them to understand what it would take to see a vision become reality.
Here are the final 3 things He shared with those He was dispersing to go and make their visions a reality and they are worthy of repeating.
After healing the lepers, the blind, deaf, mute, lame, and mentally ill, after raising the dead, quieting the storms, defying the laws of the universe by walking on water and assembling, teaching, and feeding the crowds, Christ met the challenges and even squared off with the religious establishment. Then selecting those He wanted and calling those to himself, He entrusted them with His own ‘intellectual property’ and signature processes for change. Empowering them and then making sure they were clear on His identity and theirs, He reveals to them a PROFOUND & disquieting TRUTH to prepare them to launch.
That He must…
🔹 Suffer
🔹 Be Rejected
🔹 Be Put to Death
And then Rise Again.
This was the last thing Jesus needed them to know in order to help them be ready to launch.
Guess what?
So do you.
For me to Live My Vision, to be where I am now, to be a solution to others’ problems and answer to others’ prayers – it has been that exact pathway and included…
My personal suffering – Grieved the loss of both my parents, family and many I thought were friends, loss of money and reputation. I have faced my own ignorance and lack of skills. There have been and continue to be sooooo many obstacles.
My rejection – From so many I esteemed, even in my church family, my own personal family and my friends.
My death – Of my old identity and way of thinking, my limiting beliefs, my faithlessness, my self-pity, my whining about why things are so hard, my scarcity mindset, and my self-reliance. And most definitely my ego and pride…because it is a messy, humbling, and imperfect process building a new vision.
This has been one of the most purifying, yet spirit-led, organically faith-building, and invigorating chapters of my life.
To tune in to and surrender to God’s Spirit and discern His plans to discover, build and live out my vision has been the most invigorating experience…and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Without Vision, People Perish.
As I said, regardless of your religious beliefs, history is a great teacher.
Viktor Frankl (Jewish concentration camp survivor) spoke of this in his book, Man’s Search for Meaning.
The future demands something of us all. This time here is purposed to go through what we have to share something important with society. Though the beatings and illnesses were real in the camp, they were not deadly until they gave up hope of the future and succumbed to this being their end.
Proof again.
Essential to life.
Without Vision, People Perish.
So although you too will face the ‘Peters’ in your life – discouraging you, condemning you, questioning you about your focus, drive, and intention – once you take on the calling to live your vision, which to them may seem extreme, ridiculous and unnecessary (at our age(s)). 😊
Remember the transformation that is required and you have surrendered to involves…
Laying it all on the line, risking, investing time, heart, and money,
and sometimes not looking or even feeling that good about where you are but because if you have done the work to get clear on …
🔹 who you are
🔹 Whose you are
🔹 and what you believe about why you are here
You will prevail and rise again. That is the pathway.
I have seen my health, my relationships, my romance, my mental & spiritual strength, my levels of fun and faith rise again.
Because the ways of God are NOT the ways of Man.
And because You have what this world needs and don’t you ever forget it or give up…
YOUR Vision is the answer to someone else’s prayer.
So you know you are ready to launch when you are clear on who you are, your value, and the value you bring and then are fortified and prepared to suffer, be rejected, die to your old identity….because you will then RISE AGAIN.
That is the way…..when you get this last lesson, you are ready to Launch!
