Ever feel like it’s time to take a look at the way you define yourself?

With the women I work with, we often discover that what they were once criticized for and held as a ‘weakness’ is really a superpower that uniquely qualifies them placed IN them for a specific purpose.

It is absolutely one of my biggest joys to uncover that and watch their reaction to it when they realize that this quality is NO mistake and certainly not the ‘fatal flaw’ they once thought, but part of their divine design to make this world a better place.  Seeing the light come on and the relief and then joy sweep over them is a profoundly life-changing moment (for them and me 😊).

I used to be ashamed of a characteristic that burns inside of me, I was criticized for it and tried to diminish it as best I could mistakenly believing it was a weakness and socially and spiritually unacceptable. But I realize now that in combination with my other gifts, it enables me to do what I do, which is to ignite the confidence in women and create the plan for others to impact many.

I just read this definition of my ‘fatal flaw’ and I love it.

“Ambition is the grit in the soul that creates disenchantment with the ordinary and puts the dare into dreams.” – Max Lucado

So what about you? Wanna figure out your own superpower that just maybe a clue to what impact you are uniquely designed for?
Here’s how it works…

What are some qualities you have been criticized for over the years? Think about them for a minute. Maybe even list them.

For me … I was often told I was… “discontent, a Pollyanna, pie in the sky thinker, unrealistic, a work-a-holic, overly focused on something, took too much responsibility, weak boundaries“… and yes, there was truth in them which is why they hurt.  There is also truth in them that could set me FREE.

Those same characteristics when cultivated properly are also referred to as “ambitious, visionary, faithful, hardworking, determined, conscientious, caring and a difference-maker.”

It may be painful but then imagine at first to reflect, “What if you too found out that perhaps they are not weaknesses after all?”

What ‘weaknesses’ in you are really YOUR superpowers in disguise? And how long will you let the criticisms of others or even your own inner critic silence them? Maybe it’s time to redefine yourself.  Maybe you were created this way because the world needs what you have.

I look forward to sharing more clients’ stories of how their weaknesses were really superpowers after all, so stay tuned.  And I would love to hear about yours.  If you can’t see past the ‘weakness’ label let me know. I’m pretty good at helping women get a new view of who they are and the value they bring.

To your new view!
